Ok, I dig kid rock don't get me wrong, but shouldn't he pull a "John Mellencamp" (Or whatever his name is) and Be like... Man Rock or something .. 30+ and still being kid is ABOUT to lose its cool (If it hasn't already) Lets say he doen't O.D. by the time hes Willies age and hes still rocking it out, I mean... will being called "Kid Rock" be as cool at 60?

All I have to say is Beach Boys are still a great band to listen to. Beach Men wouldn't sound good and I think Kid Rock will be long gone before we have to worry about if the name sounds cool or uncool

He should just call himself Kid Kountry or something because I think he lost the "Rock" title a long time ago.

He's got a new cd coming out

Kid Rock's new album is set for release on October 9,2007,pushed back from a September 25 release date.Rock also said the record will be produced by Rick Rubin as well as Rob Cavallo.The title also could be called "Amen" instead of "Rock And Roll Jesus", as Kid Rock as stated he doesnt want to call the album "Rock And Roll Jesus" but Atlantic wants it called that."So Hot" will be the first single and will go for adds on rock radio August 20,2007. Billboard Magazine gave a preview of the album on their August 4 th issue with Kid Rock on the cover. Their will be 11 songs with Kid Rock calling "Amen" the best song he's ever written, rolling stone says its a song dealing with how the world is going to hell in its current state. "All Summer Long" will feature Lynyrd Skynyrd's Billy Powell and they compared it to a cross between "Sweet Home Alabama" and Warron Zevon's "Werewolves In London". "Half Your Age" is a kiss off to Pamela Anderson while "Miss Understood" is the albums power ballad. The Heavy rockers include "Rock And Roll Jesus", "So Hot", and "Sugar", the lone rap song. "Roll On" is a motown flavored track while "When You Love Someone" is described as a rootsy gospel hued affair.While the song "New Orleans" was co written by David Allan Coe. Kid Rock plans on doing a full scale promo tour which will include small club gigs upon the albums release.Guest includes Sponge's lead singer Vinnie Dombroski, Blackwater Suprises Drummer Jeff Fowlker, Sax players Rayse Biggs and David McMurray,Mandolist Aubrie Haynie, Fiddlest Paul Franklin, background vocalist Barbera Payton and the gospel choir the Fisk Jubilee Choir.

There's quite a bit more rock than rap on Kid Rock's upcoming Atlantic album, tentatively titled "Rock'n'Roll Jesus," which will arrive Oct. 9. Recorded at the Clarkston Chophouse studio on his home property in Michigan, the set cuts a broad stylistic swath, from metallic headbangers like first single "So Hot" and "Sugar" (the set's only rap track) to such rootsy, gospel-hued fare as "Amen" ("The best song I've ever written," Rock tells Billboard) and "When You Love Someone."

The Motown-influenced "Roll On" rolls alongside the power ballad "Miss Understood" and the Crescent City-flavored "New Orleans" (co-written with pal David Allen Coe), while "All Summer Long" entertainingly mashes up elements of Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" and Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama"-with the latter group's Billy Powell on piano.

The album ends with "Half Your Age," a sly country kissoff to ex-wife Pamela Anderson. When it reaches the chorus' closing line about finding a younger girlfriend who's "twice as hot," Rock throws his arms up and offers an exultant high five. "I think people expect it," he says with a shrug and smile, tapping on a cigar. "It'd be stupid to pretend that it didn't happen and not say anything."

Overall, Rock -- who's dedicating the album to his late friend, Atlantic co-founder Ahmet Ertegun -- hopes the effect is "like going to church drunk on Saturday night. It defines America; if you just had to play one American rock album for somebody, this would be it."

To support the album, Rock is planning a promo tour, which will include radio events, prior to the release. There will also be a series of theater and club dates to promote the album, with a full-scale tour planned for 2008.

I had no idea he was going back into rock music .. he had done so much work with country music recently I thought he'd completely moved past it.

I think he is trying following in the footsteps of guys like Cash, Nelson, Bocephus....southern rock is pretty good if you listen to it.

I listened to the first sample song. Not terrible, not great.

I think it said that there was only one rap song on this cd, so at least he's focusing on an area that seems to fit him
